Since 1895, Bay State Savings Bank has taken great pride in serving our customers, always striving forward with the mission of being the community bank of choice. As Worcester’s only bank headquartered in Worcester, our commitment is and has always been to you – our customers – and the communities we serve. We pride ourselves in supporting the banking needs of local people and businesses. We seek to understand each customer as an individual, knowing him or her by name.
To enhance the quality of our banking customers’ experience, we launched several new initiatives in 2018. Digital initiatives included debit card security options and a new platform that customizes our customers’ online & mobile banking experiences.
For customers who prefer our in-branch banking experience, we’ve continued to modernize our branches and explored new ways to heighten customer engagement through adding more intimate seating areas, fostering a personal and friendly environment, as well as hosting weekly events open to the public. Exceeding customer needs is the most important thing our employees do each day, which is why they’ve spent much of 2018 creating both the environments and tools to do so.
In 2018, the Bay State Savings Charitable Foundation had a remarkable year in giving. The Foundation, established in 2003 to support non-profit organizations and programs that enhance the quality of life in our communities, has distributed more than $700,000 in grants and scholarships since its inception. The commitment our organization has to the communities we serve is both remarkable and unwavering, and we are both grateful and excited to begin another year of giving back.
Looking ahead, increasing the customer experience will remain a top priority. With cross collaboration at an all-time high, our employees will continue to provide outstanding products and services that exceed your expectations, such as updating our ATM machines, enhancing our website, and launching new loan application and deposit products. We will also continue to give back to the communities we serve, as we both live and work in these communities, and will always be proud to help them grow.
As you can imagine, I am extremely proud of our last year which was filled with accomplishments, and look forward to updating you on 2019’s endeavors in the coming months. For now, I would like to personally thank our many customers for their relationship and trust in all of us who make up Bay State Savings Bank. There is nothing more important to us than you.
