Credit Analyst

Under the general direction of the VP Credit Administration Officer, the Credit Analyst provides competent credit analysis for both existing and prospective commercial banking customers. The Credit Analyst is responsible for reviewing current credit data and financial statements to determine the degree of risk involved in extending credit or lending money. Data is compiled into reports for use by lenders in their decision-making process.

Candidates must have the ability to conduct financial analysis as it pertains to prospective or existing customers. Strong analytical skills as well as general accounting principles, commercial lending procedures and documentation. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Ability to read and comprehend government regulation, trade publications, system documentation manuals, credit reports, loan applications, tax bills, tax returns, compliance manuals, and policies and procedures.

Minimum Experience Required

  • Bachelor Degree in Business Administration, Finance, Accounting or related field
  • One to three (1-3) years of progressive experience
  • Formal credit analysis training is preferred
