Prize Notification Scam

Bay State Savings Bank has been made aware that several scam letters accompanied by “initial checks” have been recently sent to Massachusetts residents indicating that a large lump sum of money was deposited into the recipient’s bank account and that the recipient must pay processing fees to access the full balance.  Please contact your local branch if you are ever unsure about the validity of a check that you receive, and we will be happy to assist you.
